The Simple Chef Cast Iron Skillet 3 Piece set is simply phenomenal! First of all, 3 pre-seasoned, heavy duty and great cast iron skillets for under $30 just cannot be beat! You receive three skillets with your purchase, coming in varying sizes of 6", 8" and 10". I was a little skeptical on the sizes before I ordered, but I am very happy to report that the sizes are perfect for the small/medium/large range. The 6" is great for one burger, one egg, or small portions. The 8" is great for meals for 2 or other medium sized recipes. And the 10" will be great for one pan cooking with meet and vegetables as well as breads and pizzas. These skillets are heavy and solid, not thin or wimpy at all. They do come pre-seasoned so you do not have to worry about the whole process and care of the pans at the beginning of their lives. That being said, it's always good to add a little more seasoning, so I would suggest researching this a bit and doing some of your own. With this comes my only complaint about this set. It doesn't come with any type of directions. I would love to see a small booklet/instructions manual on the use and care of your new skillets. There's so many useful things you can do with these three great pans, it would be great to have some kind of guidance for those that have never used them before. However, you can definitely find this with some google searching, so don't let that put you off from this great product at all! This would also be a fantastic gift for newlyweds, house warming, and those starting off on their own. These pans are built to last and will definitely last with you for a long long time. I can't wait to use these more! This is fantastic starter set and will surely get a ton of use!
